For the first time, SPR's internationally regarded industry benchmark report is available via subscription to the general public.  Previously published on a commission basis for select clients, the report details industry trends and benchmarks distilled from SPR's knowledge base of IT project performance accumulated through intense, hands-on data gathering and analysis.  Using the rigorous, ever-evolving methodology developed by Capers Jones when he founded SPR more than twenty-five years ago, SPR consultants have studied a wide-ranging population of more than 50,000 projects.  The current knowledge base reflects analysis gleaned from nearly 18,000 of the most current and relevant projects and encompasses a global reach and outlook.  The knowledge base includes project performance influences from North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia, as well as a complete spectrum of vertical industry sectors, outsourcing and delivery solutions.

In keeping with SPR's long-held tradition, the impact of software size is normalized using IFPUG function points, and the extensive array of metrics reported from various segments of the software lifecycle includes, among others, modeled measures of productivity, defect removal efficiency, defect density, and on-schedule/on-budget percentages across an indexed spread of function point sizes.
