KnowledgePLAN offers several methods for sizing a software project: Sizing by Metric (e.g., Function Points, KLOC, and user-defined metrics), by Analogy, and by Components Through the sizing by analogy approach, users select the software project or module most closely representing their projects. Sizing by Component allows users with with a limited understanding of the software's initial design (or Function Point methodology) to develop an estimate of size. With project size established, KnowledgePLAN now has the information necessary to develop a base estimate. |
