Brief introduction to the primary features of KnowledgePLAN. The tour follows entry of basic parameters for a “quick estimate” and shows some high-level results.

Demonstrates examples of the three primary modes of sizing for the estimation base: sizing by metric, sizing by components, and sizing by analogy.
Approximation of function point size in the tool is a feature that can be used when there is not sufficient information to do a sizing by metric. Demonstration of an example approximation resulting in size.
Detailed control of the estimation engine is achieved by adjusting staffing (people) resources. By calibrating staff, users of KnowledgePLAN can achieve a time (duration) objective for the project. Several methods of calibration are covered in the video.

In this video we show examples of how the internal rules work to link effort, time, staffing and quality with each attribute. The Goals Wizard provides a sensitivity analysis and shows the impact of each factor.1
