WebEx Course Curriculum Description
SPR is excited about offering the use of the latest technology in the area of education to make instructor-led training accessible to everyone regardless of location or time zone. WebEx provides a viable alternative to bringing us onsite to conduct training or attending public courses.
Introduction to Function Point Analysis
This class provides participants with a deep understanding of IPFUG 4.1 function points AND hands-on experience applying the concepts. Upon completion participants will understand the counting process, application boundaries, IFPUG counting practices and General System Characteristics. In addition, SPR's class clearly defines application and project counts. This is an IFPUG Certified Class.
The course itself will be provided interactively via an Internet connection. The two day introductory course is broken up into five (5) three hour sessions. A day is given between each course session to review material covered, complete and turn in assignments, and prepare any questions for the next day session. The modules are as follows:

• Definition of Terms
• Types of Counts
• Boundary & Scope
Module 2
• Counting Rules to Identify Data Function Types
• Counting Rules to Identify Transaction Function Types
Module 3
• Complexity and Contribution Definitions and Rules
Module 4
• General System Characteristics
• Calculations
Module 5
• Enhancement Case Study
Each of the first four modules will include a homework assignment that will need to be completed and sent in electronically before the end of the next business day. Each of the last four sessions will begin with a review of what was covered from the prior session, and an open discussion on any follow-up questions from the previous module; a review of the homework will be covered following that, and then the next module will begin.
